Birth Doula Services.

Having a birth doula can make all the difference in the world for the birthing parent and for the partner.

After an initial meeting to ensure I am a comfortable fit for you, we will work together to define your wishes and answer questions as they arise.

Included in the basic birth package:

• Access to doula via email text or phone from the beginning of our contract 
• 2 prenatal visits 1-2 hrs in length
• On-call services 2 weeks prior to due date (meaning my life is "arranged" so I am available on short notice24-7 during this period)
• 24-7 phone, text, email access during on-call period
• Attendance at the birth when and where you need me (this may be at home, hospital, or both)
• Min 1 hour attendance after birth to ensure you are settling in and breast feeding is initiated.
• 1 postpartum visit (basic lactation support provided) 1-2 hrs long.

Benefits of having a Birth Doula can include:

• Reduced use of Pitocin for induction
• Fewer requests for pain medication
• Less likely to need forceps and vacuum for delivery
• Reduced likelyhood of cesarean birth
• Better Apgar scores for baby
• Greater satisfaction with overall birth experience
• More positive long term memories
• Decreased anxiety, increased confidence, improved Postpartum mental health and increased family bonding and supports for partners and siblings.
• Increased movement, improved relaxation and increased comfort and reassurance during labour.
